Taylor & Francis recently announced that their “iOpenAccess” option has been extended to cover 31 journals in environmental and agricultural sciences, behavioral sciences and development studies. This is in addition to the 175 journals from T&F’s Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics portfolios, seven behavioral science journals from Psychology Press, and medical and bioscience journals from Informa Healthcare. The Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) has expressed support for Springer’s Open Choice program whereby articles are immediately published with full open access and deposited in repositories such as PubMed Central, at a flat-rate fee per article of $3,000.
