Interesting blog post titled “A Model for Alternative Scholarly Recognition Measures in Academic Librarianship?” by Eric Schnell contains a review of the promotion and tenure guidelines used by the New Media Department at the University of Maine. While these guidelines are specific to the field of new media, there are some compelling alternatives to the standard ” article in a peer-reviewed journal” criteria for assessment of scholarly impact.
