XKCD in the NYT!

May 26th, 2008 · No Comments

XKCD.com is a fantastic “webcomic of romance, sarcasm, math, and language”. You can imagine my delight when I happened upon an article highlighting XKCD in the New York Times. The title of the NYT article is “This Is Funny Only if You Know Unix”, but I think that this web-toon offers something cerebral for everyone.

Also, check out the feature on geohashing. From the wiki:

xkcd comic #426, published May 21, 2008, contains an algorithm that generates random coordinates across the world every day. These coordinates can be used as destinations for adventures, à la Geocaching. They can also be used for local meetups. For more information, see the main page.
