In recent years, nonpharmacological therapies for atrial fibrillation (AF) have emerged given the limitations of medical therapy. Advancements in particular have been made in the areas of radiofrequency catheter ablation and AF surgery, and have been accompanied by substantial technological improvements. This article will discuss several different modalities of nonpharmacological AF management including catheter ablation, AF surgery and device-based therapy.
